Members are required to log 50 hours in the summer / fall to be on team during the build season and another 50 hours are required during the build season to be allowed to miss school to attend events.
During the off-season (MAY-JUN / SEP-DEC), the team meets twice a week after school in room 312, typically on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 - 5:30 PM. During the Build Season through competitions, the team typically meets M-F, 3:15-7 PM after school in room 312. Sometimes the meetings run longer as we get closer to actual competitions. Club members are strongly encouraged to make 3-4 of the meetings weekly as studies permit.
There is no cost to participate in the club. Some costs may occur during the course of the season for travel.
Yes! There are many opportunities to participate in robotics while still participating in sports or in band. You still need to meet the hour commitment for events and travel.
No skill is necessary to join. We will help you learn new skills needed to participate. No prior experience required.
In a single word, they are incredible and look forward to your presence on the team!
Take a look at the Calendar tab on this site! Everything should be there and if it's not, let us know!
Parent support is very important to our team. You can help as a mentor by sharing some ofyour knowledge with passionate students interested in learning more about STEM. You can also help donate food items (snacks, bottles of water, 32 oz bone-in ribeyes, etc.) to the team. In addition to Robotics events, during build season, parents sign up to bring team dinners. Parents can collaborate with other members’ parents to pay for the food or one parent can take care of the team dinner for the day. You can also donate money through our Boosters or email us if you have any possible grant/sponsorship programs at a company you work for. We look forward to hearing from you! Contact us today!
Unfortunately, we are not qualified or allowed to discuss this topic as well as a myriad of others like winning lottery numbers, how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop Drop, and many more. Please phone a friend.
Here you should be able to find answers to our most frequently asked questions as well as a few obscure ones that you might now be thinking you should have thought to ask as well.
If on the rarest of chances your questions weren't answered here, feel free to reach out to the club advisors, Torrey and/or Ketch, and they'll be happy to find the answer or point you in the right direction.
